About

The Boulder Valley Rose Society, an affiliate of the American Rose Society, was formed in February 1961 to provide information about rose growing to our members and the public. Our meetings are held from February to November each year in Boulder, Colorado. We meet in February to determine the activities for the coming year.

Activities might include:

  • Speakers or discussions on rose-related topics
  • Educational activities
  • Visits to public rose gardens
  • Potlucks and garden tours at members homes
  • Group projects

The BVRS also maintains the rose garden at the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse on 13th Street in downtown Boulder. The garden contains nearly 50 varieties of roses.

Try us out; come to one of our meetings. Nonmembers are welcome and under no obligation to join. If you have questions or want directions to a BVRS meeting, e-mail Dawn.

Year of the Rose-2002

In 2002 - The Year of the Rose - the American Rose Society proclaimed Boulder to be an "American Rose City." Only one of two (Longmont is the other) in the state of Colorado. The framed proclamation is proudly displayed at the Information Desk of Boulder's main Public Library.
